Why did Nolensville Christian Academy choose a 2-day per week in class learning model?

Our educational model is designed to provide students with a structured learning environment on campus 2 days a week. The remaining days are freed up for families to do at home learning and spend quality time together. We believe children do not need to be in a classroom for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, to receive a proper education. In fact, we find that unstructured learning experiences allow children to naturally discover and cultivate their unique talents and gifts, which they can then use to better serve the Lord and positively impact their family and community. By emphasizing the importance of the family unit, our model enables families to spend more time together, a core value we strongly believe in.

Is Nolensville Christian Academy affiliated with a national homeschool organization or association?

No, Nolensville Christian Academy is not affiliated with any homeschool organizations or associations.

How is the leadership of Nolensville Christian Academy structured?

We have a director, the founder of Nolensville Christian Academy. We are overseen by an advisory board. Our board will consist of our director, 2 members of Nolensville Baptist church, at least 1 teacher, and 2 members of our NCA family (must be related to a student attending NCA). We are currently recruiting teachers and look forward to introducing our team to you as we finalize our selections.

Is Nolensville Christian Academy owned by Nolensville First Baptist Church and affiliated with the Southern Baptist Association?

We are blessed to be able to use the facilities at Nolensville First Baptist Church, but Nolensville Christian Academy functions independently of the church. Nolensville Christian Academy is viewed as a ministry of Nolensville First Baptist church. The church has been immensely supportive in providing Christian parents an additional schooling option, with members volunteering in roles like lunch cleanup, special programs, and event planning. We are truly thankful for the church’s generosity and willingness to help us fulfill the Lord’s calling.

Is Nolensville Christian Academy a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization?

Yes, we have applied for 501(c)(3) status and anticipate approval by mid-2025. Tuition is not tax-deductible. All donations made to the school are tax-deductible.

What educational support is available to parents?

We are committed to supporting families by providing clear instructional materials and resources from our professional teachers to help parents during at-home learning days. Families are encouraged to reach out to their child’s teacher or the director if they need any assistance or have questions. We are dedicated to bridging the gap between the classroom and home, and promoting open communication between teachers and parents. 

What is the age cutoff for incoming kindergarten students?

We follow the State of Tennessee Department of Education guidelines. A child enrolling in kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before August 15th.  

What kind of curriculum/instruction will be used? 

Nolensville Christian Academy utilizes a selection of traditional Christian curricula that best fits our hybrid model and mission/vision. It champions the strengths and resources of both the classroom and the home. This foundational curricula is enhanced by our professional teachers to meet the academic needs of our students.

Does Nolensville Christian Academy accept resumes for future teachers or staff?

Who keeps student records and files with the state?

Records for enrolled students are maintained by Nolensville Christian Academy. They include enrollment and academic progress details in a cumulative folder for each student. It is up to the parents to send in attendance and grades to the state of Tennessee. You are never required to turn in grades, classes, etc. The only time you will need those is when you order a report card or transcript, which is optional. Many families like to have a report card at the end of each school year, but it is always your choice. The Comineous School is a great resource for families and is who we are using as our umbrella school is families do not have one. 

What are the academic and behavioral standards for students?

Nolensville Christian Academy students are expected to demonstrate academic integrity and admirable personal character described in and agreed to in our student code of conduct document received at the time of admission. We have high expectations for Godly behavior both on-site and at home. We expect parents to be engaged in monitoring and correcting behavioral issues and to collaborate with us in the event of an academic or behavioral incident.

Are uniforms required at Nolensville Christian Academy?

An approved uniform is required at Nolensville Christian Academy. We believe that a uniform fosters a respectful and studious environment. Uniforms can be purchased at Lands’ End with our school number. For more information, please contact us.

Do students have an opportunity to attend chapel?

Tuesday morning chapel sessions are held one a month. Chapel is an important opportunity for Nolensville Christian Academy students to learn from God’s Word and worship together. Family members are invited to attend Chapel as often as they would like. 

What is the academy’s policy surrounding absences?

We uphold your parental authority to make decisions for your family. The state of Tennessee requires 180 days of school. What constitutes a “school day” is up to you as a family. In the case of sickness or traveling, we do ask that your student returns to campus having had the concepts covered with them during their time away so they are ready to transition back to learning with their peers without feeling behind. 

Are there extracurricular activities for my student?

Through volunteer-led activity groups, students have the opportunity to participate in a selection of optional extracurricular trips each semester to local locations such as parks, museums, libraries, historical sites, colleges, and more. Nolensville Christian Academy will also offer a variety of functions, such as a Christmas/holiday programs. Parent participation in the development and leading of these activities is highly encouraged.

Are there opportunities to connect with other enrolled families? 

Yes, Nolensville Christian Academy encourages family gatherings, communication networks, prayer and support lists, and other opportunities. Nolensville Christian Academy wants to facilitate meaningful relationships and support systems between families.

Will there be tuition assistance available?

We are not table to provide scholarships at this academic year. Nolensville Christian Academy desires to work with all families to make our school financially accessible for your family. We will have the Lenny Farmer Scholarship Fund sent up for the academic year 2026-2027.
